NEW YORK – Onsdag, 25. september 2019: Verdens matvareprogram (WFP) lanserer i dag neste steg av kinoreklamekampanjen som har oppnådd svært gode resultater, og generert en 40% økning i merkevarekjennskap i USA om WFPs livreddende arbeid i bekjempelsen mot global sult.
"For millioner av barn over hele verden er det måltidet de får i skolen ofte det eneste måltidet de får i løpet av dagen. Uten det vil de gå sultne, de risikerer å bli syke og å droppe ut av skolen, og dermed miste den beste muligheten de har til å ta seg ut av fattigdom.
Kuer. Det er ingenting galt med dem. Tvert imot: de holder deg mett — hvis man går ut fra at de overlever en tørke nå og da. De kan til og med holde deg med selskap. På den annen side, hvis kuer er alt du kommer på når du beskriver ditt univers har du kanskje et problem.
Da jeg vokste opp i det rurale Kenya var kuer omtrent alt jeg kjente til.
Moses er far til tre barn og liker å produsere honning på fritiden. Han har jobbet med Verdens matvareprogram (WFP) i 15 år, og står nå på frontlinjen av WFPs arbeid for flyktningkrisen i Uganda.

Hva er din bakgrunn? Jeg har en bachelorgrad i statsvitenskap og et årstudium i fransk fra NTNU. Etter året med fransk jobbet jeg som praktikant ved den norske delegasjonen til FN-organisasjonene i Roma (FAO, WFP, IFAD), som er en del av den norske ambassaden i Italia.
Hvorfor søkte du på denne stillingen?
Kartet – Global Monitoring of School Meals during COVID-19 School Closures – gir daglige skjermbaserte oppdateringer om stengte skoler og antall barn som følge av stengingene ikke lenger får daglige skolemåltider.
I tillegg til det globale overblikket, viser kartet gjennom realtidsdata hvor mange barn som rammes i hvert land, samt til omfanget av problemet og behovet for løsninger.
