Den oppadgående trenden for sult i verden - etter flere tiår med jevn nedgang - understreker nok en gang den enorme utfordringen med å oppnå målet om å utrydde sult innen 2030. Antallet sultne mennesker i verden er tilbake på samme nivå som for ti år siden.
Kartet – Global Monitoring of School Meals during COVID-19 School Closures – gir daglige skjermbaserte oppdateringer om stengte skoler og antall barn som følge av stengingene ikke lenger får daglige skolemåltider.
I tillegg til det globale overblikket, viser kartet gjennom realtidsdata hvor mange barn som rammes i hvert land, samt til omfanget av problemet og behovet for løsninger.

1. Sahel er et tørt landområde sør for Sahara som strekker seg på tvers av Afrika, fra Senegal i vest til Djibouti i øst. Området er mottakelig for tørke samt mat- og ernæringskriser som er koblet til klimasjokk og underutvikling. I løpet av store tørkeperioder, flammer humanitære behov opp.
1. Det begynner med lokale løsninger 💡
Laika James' jorde var infestert av Fall Armyworm, et insekt som har angrepet millioner av bønders avlinger i hele Afrika. Laika følger WFPs råd og bruker en økologisk behandling som inneholder lokalt tilgjengelige produkter inkludert sukker og fisk.
