96% av befolkingen i Gaza opplever akutt matusikkerhet, hvorav 2,15 millioner mennesker opplever sult på krisenivå eller verre. Nesten en halv million av disse opplever sult på katastrofenivå.

På en signeringsseremoni i dag forpliktet Norge seg til å bidra 3 millioner amerikanske dollar til Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA), et initiativ av en gruppe med landbruksfokuserte organisasjoner dannet for å få markeder til å fungere bedre for småskalabønder. Den norske støtten ble annonsert under et besøk av utviklingsminister Nikolai Astrup til Yaras gjødselterminal i Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
