Nesten ti år med konflikt i Jemen har skapt en av de mest alvorlige humanitære krisene i verden. FNs World Food Programme (WFP) sin nødhjelpsinnsats er også blant de største i verden, med over 15 millioner mennesker nådd i 2023.
Purni var 25 år gammel da hun kom til Nepal som flyktning fra Bhutan med mannen sin og en liten baby. Lite kunne hun vite om at hun kom til å få tre barn til i den samme flyktningeleiren, og at hun fortsatt kom til å bo der 25 år senere.
FNs World Food Programme (WFP) er stolt av å samarbeide med over 1000 ikke-statlige organisasjoner (NGOer) verden over, fra små grasrotgrupper til store internasjonale bistandsorganisasjoner.
Som mor til to barn var det ikke enkelt for Jeanette fra Rwanda å finne arbeid på en gård. "Ikke alle arbeidsgivere vil ansette en kvinne med små barn. Vi hadde ikke råd til å betale for sykeforsikring eller låne land der vi kunne dyrke våre egne avlinger", sier hun.
Tobarnsmoren Agustina fra Guatemala syntes det var vanskelig å få endene til å møtes.
Dorji Choden husker fremdeles dagene da hun våknet hver morgen før soloppgang, hufset seg gjennom morgenkulden og la ut på den lange gåturen til skolen i landsbyen. Hun kom fra en ydmyk familie, og forsto tidlig at utdanning holdt nøkkelen til framtiden for henne.
Den globale humanitære finansieringskrisen har tvunget WFP til å stanse programmet for matassistanse som har hjulpet syriske familier over hele landet i over ti år.

Laika James' jorde var infestert av Fall Armyworm, et insekt som har angrepet millioner av bønders avlinger i hele Afrika. Laika følger WFPs råd og bruker en økologisk behandling som inneholder lokalt tilgjengelige produkter inkludert sukker og fisk.
